Our Best Classic Meatloaf Recipe

Ingredients

1. 1 tbsp olive oil 2. 1 brown onion, finely chopped 3. 2 garlic cloves, crushed 4. 1 1/2 cups fresh breadcrumb 5. 500g Coles Beef 3 Star Regular Mince 6. 300g pork and veal mince 7. 1 egg, lightly beaten 8. 1 tbsp wholegrain mustard 9. 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce 10. 3/4 cup Coles 30% Sugar Reduced Tomato Sauce

Method Steps: 1. Preheat the oven to 200°C/180°C fan-forced. Grease a 9cm-deep, 9cm x 19cm (base) loaf pan. Heat olive oil in a medium frying pan over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and crushed garlic. Cook, stirring, for 5 minutes or until the onion has softened. Set aside for 5 minutes to cool.

In a bowl, combine the cooled onion mixture with the fresh breadcrumbs, beef mince, pork and veal mince, lightly beaten egg, wholegrain mustard.

Worcestershire sauce, and 1/2 cup of tomato sauce. Mix well to combine. Spoon the mixture into the greased loaf pan and level the top with a spoon.

In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar with the remaining tomato sauce. Spread this mixture over the top of the meatloaf.

Bake for 1 hour or until the meatloaf is browned and comes away from the sides of the pan.

Drain any juices from the pan and set aside for 5 minutes. Serve the meatloaf with mashed potato, steamed green beans, and gravy. Enjoy your meal!
