Slow Cooker Sloppy Joes

– ▢2 pounds 85% lean ground beef – ▢½ cup finely chopped onion – ▢½ cup finely chopped green bell pepper – ▢1 teaspoon kosher salt – ▢½ teaspoon ground black pepper – ▢3 cloves garlic minced – ▢8 ounces tomato sauce (½ jar) – ▢½ cup ketchup – ▢⅓ cup chili sauce such as Heinz – ▢2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

To brown the ground beef, put it in a large pan over medium-high heat. Then, add the chopped onion and green bell pepper. Add ground black pepper and kosher salt to taste.

Stir the ground beef every once in a while for 4 to 5 minutes, or until it is cooked and no longer pink. After you add the minced garlic, cook for another 30 seconds. Get rid of any extra fat in the pan.

Moving to the Crockpot: Put the cooked ground beef mixture into the crock of a 6-quart slow cooker.

Add What's Left Mix in the rest of the ingredients: ground chilli powder, apple cider vinegar, yellow mustard, tomato sauce, ketchup, chilli sauce, and apple cider vinegar.

Cook: Put the lid on top of the slow cooker and cook on low heat for 6 to 7 hours or on high heat for 3 to 4 hours, until the flavours are mixed well and the food is hot all the way through.

Serve: Put the sloppy joe mix on hamburger buns or slider buns after it's done cooking.
